Growing up without the words " I love you"
This is how i was raised. I never once thought i was not "loved" by the lack of hearing the words out loud. I was able to FEEL loved. Although in my teen years, I was whipped with a whip way too many times. My mom had a extremely tough upbringing in Lima Peru. She is as rough as they come, but we were never hungry. She provided for us the best way she could under the circumstances. She is now 88 years old and still the same!!!! but now i can see beyong that masquerade - I can see in her soul and the reason she is the way she is. My Dad had a privileged upbringing - both parents Chinese. The words " i love you " did not exist in our home. I never really thought much about it until i saw this video, it was an " a ha" moment and thought i would share it here.
